Following up on the idea from EHF Horologere, I've ordered a case, dial, hands and bracelet from rouhelena on ebay:

I already have an ETA 2836 movement, so I am looking forward to this as a project watch. Several possibilities here:

  • Assemble as-is, yielding a decent Seadweller homage with date
  • See if a friend of mine with a CNC can cut out the day window on the dial
  • Try the spiffy glidelock bracelet on my bracelet-lacking Damasko DA44.
  • Try other hands - I have a set or two of ETA hands and they're easy to order

I used the 'make an offer' link, and my 135 was accepted instantly. My guess is that you could offer less and save a few dollars.

Stay tuned - I will be posting lots of updates and pictures. I quite like the idea of doing more projects and DIY here. If you want to follow along, rouhelena also has movements and tools.
